Some great news.
Handprint Theatre have been making Theatre For and With Young People for ten years. Our work has always prioritised Deaf and hearing artists creating work for Deaf and hearing families, inspiring and encouraging thousands of Deaf and hearing young people to get creative.
We are honoured to announce that
Ruth Montgomery will be our first Patron.
Ruth has always been an big supporter of our ethos to 'be creative with what you have', not relying on big budgets but on the true magic of storytelling and human connection.
She is a professional musician, teacher, artist and Clore Fellow. She was recently a winner of the Francesca Hanley inspriation award for her services to music and her Audiovisability project which brings together Deaf and hearing musicians and visual artists.
Ruth said "I am very proud to be Handprint Theatre's first patron. Their high quality visual theatre productions are a true example of integration through sign language, music and visual arts. Working with deaf and hearing actors, they foster community engagement between the deaf and hearing worlds. . They explore topics that are important and relevant to all walks of lives today."
We are so excited to be moving forwards with Ruth, and creating more opportunities to inspire and discover future Deaf and hearing creatives.
